RETURN OF THE PAGEANT
As written and told by Jeff Cook at the 5:00 and 7:00 Christmas Eve services, 2011
It seemed obvious that there was exactly one year of days between one Christmas Eve and the next Christmas Eve.
Rev. Julie Woodson knew that had been true for each Christmas Eve she had experienced during her life, but she had been acutely aware of that year’s worth of time as this Christmas Eve approached.
She remembered exactly when she began paying attention to that year-long interval. It was last year on Christmas Eve, following the Christmas Eve service.
That was when Matt Wolfson, and Melissa and Brendan Paster – the Paster twins – had told her that this Christmas Eve they were going to stage a Christmas Pageant reunion.
Rev. Julie could picture the grin spreading across Matt’s face as he had said to her, “We want to get together everyone who was part of our Christmas pageant five years ago and put on another one. We’ve already started thinking of some ideas.”
